Position Title: Technical Writer

Summary:

The position will prepare instruction/project manuals and other supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information more effectively. The ideal candidate is interested in writing/editing technical materials to create our project manuals, possesses strong analytical and organizational skills, and is proficient in writing. Successful employees invite input from others and listen and react intellectually.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creates technically accurate and comprehensive documentation for project manuals.
• Verifying the clarity, completeness, accuracy, and quality of technical documents.
• Collaborate closely with development teams and project managers to understand and compose user guides and other technical specifications for project manuals.
• Provide a controlled document library and up-to-date documentation review process.
• Using a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office products and the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to create and edit process documentation such as bill of materials and spare parts lists.
• Develops working knowledge of the product functional areas, as assigned.
• Passionately pursue the information that our customers need to be successful.
• Using technology and creativity to continuously improve quality, timeliness, and profitability.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic credentials: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in technical writing. Preferably in the manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrates high level of cooperation, flexibility, and willingness to help the team succeed.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ambiguous working environment.

Position Title: Mechanical Engineer

Summary: The position will engage across all functions of the company and have exposure to the entire manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is interested in engineering design, problem-solving, and product improvement and possesses strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as efficiency in CAD. Successful employees invite input from others and listen and react intellectually.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Designing equipment to meet the needs of our customers as well as applicable codes and industry safety standards.
• Using a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office products, CAD, and the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to create and edit process documentation such as drawings (layout and detailed), Bill of Materials, and product manuals.
• Recommending improvements that lower costs and/or increase production.
• Engaging with the Production Team to solve problems during the fabrication process.
• Using technology and creativity to continuously improve, quality, timeliness, and profitability.
• Contributing to meetings with team members, customers, and suppliers to problem-solve and achieve successful outcomes.
• Supporting Sales Department on design concepts and cost estimates.
• Leading a project from receipt of customer purchase order through equipment installation, including schedule and resource management.

The ideal candidate is interested in business development, has superior analytical skills, is organized, and is a proficient writer who prides themselves on effective communication. Candidates who take initiative, have a tremendous work ethic, and have a high level of integrity are considered ideal.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Compute cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, labor, and other related activities.
• Recommend improved materials, design, or machinery to customers and Belco management, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production
• Create proposals/quotations.
• Responsible for identifying potential cost savings and/or cost problems that may occur on various projects
• Attend, contribute to, and/or leads meetings with team members, sales, vendors, customers, and management as needed.
• Use a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Project Manager), and the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Works to consistently meet and exceed customer and Belco management requirements.
• Continuously strives for operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Position Title: Welder Fabricator

Summary: Belco Industries is currently seeking novice to highly experienced candidates for the position of Welder Fabricator. Novice candidates should have some prior experience in metal fabrication and welding, know how to read a tape measure, and have good mechanical aptitude, while experienced candidates should possess the ability to read and build from mechanical shop drawings.

Position responsibilities and requirements include, but are not limited to:

• The welder/fabricator position requires the ability to perform the work or tasks assigned (with some training or instruction as required) daily. This work requires the ability to interpret and build from fabrication drawings and to assemble industrial equipment or systems being manufactured.

• All candidates should have basic metal fab skills necessary to perform the tasks involved – with some instruction and/or training as necessary based on experience level.

• Workers will use various power tools and equipment and should have experience or familiarity with using: GMAW wire welders, plasma or flame cutters, steel saws, grinders, press brakes, plate shears, drill presses, ironworkers, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.

• The worker will be required to lift, push, pull, etc., steel, or other components (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend, kneel, squat, etc. in the performance of the work. The amount of lifting, standing, bending, kneeling, etc. varies constantly depending on the current work being performed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and/or Technical Training with certification preferred.
• High attention to detail, fulfilling responsibilities with integrity and accuracy.
• Exhibits trust and accountability.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment and a willingness to learn.

Compensation: A 40-hour workweek with travel & overtime opportunities, paid annual vacation time after 12 months of employment, and 9 paid holidays per year. Medical and Dental benefits are available, as well as a 401k retirement plan with a company contribution of $.35 per hour worked and an additional matching contribution of up to $.40 per hour.

The current pay rate for this position is between $15 and $20.59 per hour based on experience and ability.
